14's WIN SHIELD THANKS TO     HEPBURN TWIN STRIKE

Albion Boys Club duo twin brothers Scott and Grant Hepburn gave a whole new meaning to twin strikers when they scored the first and second goals in the North’s 3-1 win over the West to win the Scottish Youth FA Inter Regional Shield at 14’s Age Group.

The game at Ochilview Park Stenhousemuir was goalless at halftime but the North lads raised the tempo in the second half and Grant Hepburn grabbed the first goal within five minutes of the restart. This spurred the West into action and they drew level when the North defence failed to clear.

The North’s lead was restored when Hepburn number two Grant, pounced to slot the ball past the West’s Keeper. The North’s victory was assured when Lewis United’s Murray Adam got on the end of a slick piece passing play by the North.

The North 15’s were not able to make it a double going under 4-1 to the West. The North never got going in the first half and were a goal down and suffered the loss of Dyce BC Niall Murray through injury on the stroke of half time. The North boys did up their game in the second half but fell further behind before Cove’s Robert Mathieson scored a well struck free kick from the edge of the box. The North went all out for the equaliser but as so often happens left themselves exposed at the back and they lost a third. Cruelly they lost a fourth just on time and whilst the West deserved their victory the 4-1 score line flattered them.
