Albion BC 16’s Scottish Cup Winners Civic Reception

Captain Jamie Ralph shows the Scottish Cup to Councilor Leslie

Albion BC 16’s attended a Civic Reception given by the City of Aberdeen in recognition of their achievement in winning the Scottish Youth FA Dunfermline Building Society Challenge Cup earlier this year. Albion had beaten Royston BC from Edinburgh 1-0 in the final at the Excelsior Stadium Airdrie in May of this year.

For the victorious Albion squad and Manager Lindsay Simpson this was a chance to get together for one last time as the majority of the squad have joined either the senior or junior ranks. No fewer than ten of the boys have joined Elgin City including the goal-scoring hero of the final Ian Vigurs who is featuring in Elgin’s first team squad. The other boys in the Elgin ranks are Stuart McKenzie, Gary Wood, Kyle McKendrick, Jamie Ralph, Martin Charlesworth, Lee Raper, Steven Craib, Ryan Thomson and Alexander Gray

Martin Donald has joined Inverness Caley Thistle. Dean Elrick signed for Fraserburgh whilst Tom Milroy has joined junior side Culter.

Neil Simpson, Simon Mathers, Dean Lawrie and Jonathon Stalker have all found other clubs in the Juvenile ranks.

Councillor Leslie congratulated the boys on behalf of the City Council and Scottish Youth FA Vice President Raymond Kelly thanked the City on behalf of the Scottish Youth FA for recognising the achievement of Albion BC.
