The Backroom Boys and Girls

The SYFA Cup Finals could not take place if it were not for a dedicated band of volunteers consisting of the Executive Committee and a group of veteran champions of Youth football in Scotland and not forgetting the overworked staff of the SYFA. Below is a set of pictures with some humorous comments. They only give you a brief insight into the workings that make these Festivals of Finals such a great success.

Seven finals took place over the course of three days spread over two weekends so it involves an enormous commitment on the part of the volunteers. Too often in the excitement of the football we forget about this.

New Signage
The new SYFA Director of Operations Stuart Black gives his staff guidance on how to greet the winners One of the veteran officials is assured that if he gets lost his name tag will ensure he is returned to the office.
Reluctantly he proceeds to go about the business of selling raffle tickets Tweedledee and Tweedledum argue about which end of the table they will lift.

Approaches are made to see if he is any good at lifting the back end of a table.

The Treasurer even helps out by sweeping the changing rooms.

His delight at finding a two pence piece explains why he was so keen to help out. Aye you can take the man out of Fife but you cannot take Fife out of the man.

National Secretary averts a pitch invasion by tackling a hooligan. It's definitely in the genes.
