COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO TEAMS IN ADJFA
It
has, recently, been drawn to our attention that some teams are not using
municipal facilities in a responsible fashion. At
Aulton, for example, the request that boots be removed before players
re-enter the pavilion after a match, appears to be being ignored and,
furthermore, we have people who see fit to clean their boots free of mud,
not by using the boot cleaners outside the building, but by knocking them
on the inside walls of the pavilion. I know this seems childish but I
would ask the question of these young men, "Would you do that at
home? I think not!" Other
acts of vandalism have been reported including graffiti being drawn on the
walls, damage to the wooden benches, doors being kicked in etc. More
worryingly, some of the staff seem to be being verbally abused by some of
our officials. This
type of behaviour is totally unacceptable. If anyone has an issue relating
to the municipal facilities they should, in the first instance, contact me
if I have booked the pitch for you. If you have taken a private booking,
then you should complain to the booking office, but you should not engage
in abusing the staff at the pavilions or at the booking office, who will
only be doing what they are told to do by their superiors. The council has already intimated that teams, who go on and use their pitches when the pitches have been deemed unplayable, will be billed for the repair of the pitch. I believe someone was billed for over £200 for just such an incident before Christmas. They have also said that they will refuse to allow certain teams access to their facilities, pavilions and pitches, if this unacceptable behaviour is to continue. I would ask all officials to ensure that this type of behaviour does not happen. We have asked the council to name the culprits so that we can deal with them for bringing the Association into disrepute. I trust we will have your cooperation in seeing that this type of behaviour ceases immediately and that all of us will conduct ourselves in a proper manner. I would urge you to remind your players of their responsibilities in behaving in a manner that reflects well on themselves, their team, their club and this Associaton. Carol Baxter THE ABOVE APPLIES TO ALL TEAMS AT ALL VENUES HOME OR AWAY COUNCIL OR PRIVATE. IT IS NO USE THE ASSOCIATION ASKING FOR BETTER FACILITIES IF WE CANNOT LOOK AFTER THE FACILITIES WE DO HAVE. ALL TEAM OFFICIALS HAVE A DUTY TO ENSURE THAT THEIR PLAYERS BEHAVE IN A CORRECT MANNER. |
